CODSIA urges DARC to withdraw commercial items rule

The Council of Defense and Space Industry Associations (CODSIA), consisting of the Aerospace Industries Association, American Council of Engineering Companies, the Information Technology Alliance for the Public Sector, the National Defense Industrial Association, the Professional Services Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, filed comments in response to DFARS Case 2013-D034, “Evaluating Price Reasonableness for Commercial Items” on September 24.

Associations Send Congress Letter on Extended CR Impacts

The heads of the Air Force Association, the Aerospace Industries Association, the National Guard Association of the United States, the National Defense Industrial Association and the Navy League sent a joint letter to congressional leadership September 14, urging them to avoid putting America’s national security in a “CR trap” by passing a bipartisan multi-year budget deal.

National Aerospace Week highlights – Melcher Speaks at the AFA Air and Space Conference

During the kickoff event of National Air and Space Week, the Air Force Association’s Air and Space Conference, AIA President and CEO Dave Melcher used his participation on a panel about the state of the aerospace sector to emphasize the need for Congress to reauthorize the Ex-Im Bank and for the government to adopt a national aerospace and defense export strategy. Melcher also highlighted recent innovation in the industrial base and lauded the Department of Defense’s new policy on independent research and development.

Secretary Pritzker Congratulates Aerospace Industry on National Aerospace Week

This week, Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker issued a statement congratulating the U.S. aerospace industry on the occasion of National Aerospace Week. She extended her gratitude for our industry’s many contributions to America’s economy and national security, and thanked AIA and its member companies for our partnership with the Commerce Department in our shared mission of promoting U.S. interests around the globe.
