Intern, Technical Operations

The Aerospace Industries Association, founded in 1919 only a few years after the birth of flight – is seeking an engineering intern to support the National Aerospace Standards (NAS) Program. NAS standards are developed and maintained by experienced aerospace engineers who are responsible for the maintenance of the NAS Standards (Fasteners) of the aerospace industry.

This intern position is non-paid, but will offer a travel stipend. Offices are conveniently located nearby the Rosslyn metro station.

Responsibilities:

  • Support on-going NAS Modernization project
  • Research questions submitted in industry inquiries on NAS Standards
  • Managing and supporting general NAS projects
  • Assist with documentation and updating of NAS archive


Experiences and Qualifications:

  • Graduate or undergraduate student in engineering fields
  • Should be able to commit to 20-25 hours/week
  • Familiar with general engineering principles, such as product specifications and technical drawing skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient skills with MS Office Suite a plus
  • Good oral and verbal communications skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are just as important as creativity, and an outgoing personality.
