AIA Technical Operations Council Elects Officers For 2002
WASHINGTON, D.C., January 8 - Roy Langton, Group Vice President, Engineering & Integrity, Parker Hannifin Corporation-Irvine, CA has been elected chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association's Technical Operations Council. He succeeds David R. Reilly, Vice President, Technology & Strategic Planning, General Dynamics- Bloomington, MN. Michael P. McCormick, Director of Quality & Productivity, Raytheon Corporation-Lexington, MA was elected vice chairman.
AIA's Technical Operations Council, the principal technical and advisory body of the association, focuses on all aspects of technical, technical program management, industrial base and operations issues affecting industry as well as those involved in technology engineering development, manufacturing, product support and information transfer.
Founded in 1919 as the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce of America, early members of AIA included Orville Wright and Glen H. Curtiss and nearly every important manufacturer at that time.
AIA is the trade association representing the nation's manufacturers of commercial military, and business aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, missiles, spacecraft, and related components and equipment.
