AIA's Councils Elect Officers for 2003

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 29- The Aerospace Industries Association's councils have elected new officers for 2003.

Civil Aviation Council: Jerry Mack, Vice President Safety & Technical Affairs, Commercial Programs, The Boeing Company has been elected chairman of AIA's Civil Aviation Council. He succeeds Bill McCabe, Director, Aviation and Market Initiatives, Dupont. Michael Romanowski, Director, Product Safety, Certification and Airworthiness, Sikorsky, was elected vice chairman.

Communications Council: Phyllis Piano, Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Raytheon Company has been elected chair of the Communications Council, replacing Larry McCracken, Vice President and Deputy, Corporate Communications, The Boeing Company.

International Council: Harry A. Pearce, Vice President, International, Integrated System Sector, Northrop Grumman has been elected chair of AIA's International Council. He succeeds Robert D. Bauerlein, Vice President, International Operations, Government Relations Office, The Boeing Company. Richard G. Kirkland, Vice President, Corporate International Business Development, Lockheed Martin was elected vice chairman.

Procurement and Finance Council: James L. Sanford, Vice President, Contracts and Pricing, Northrop Grumman Corporation, has been elected chair of AIA's Procurement and Finance Council. He succeeds Eleanor Spector, Vice President, Contracts, Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Space Council: Ray Ernst, Senior Director, Military Programs, Washington Operations, Lockheed Martin has been elected chair of AIA's Space Council, replacing outgoing chair Frank Slazer, Director, Space Shuttle Business Development, The Boeing Company. Don Brownlee, Director, Washington Operations, Aerojet was elected vice chair.

Technical Operations Council: Anthony Gentile, Vice President, Engineering & OEM Marketing, Goodrich Corporation has been elected chairman of AIA's Technical Operations Council. He succeeds Roy Langton, Group Vice President, Engineering & Integrity, Parker Hannifin Corporation. Robert Klein, Vice President, Engineering Logistics & Technology, Northrop Grumman Corporation, was elected vice chairman.
