IHS and AIA Renew Standards Distribution Agreement

Aerospace Industry Collaboration Enables Members and Customers With Access to the World’s Largest Body of Industry Standards and Parts Management Solutions

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., and ARLINGTON, Va. — Information Handling Services and the Aerospace Industries Association today announced an expanded multi-year agreement to provide improved access to industry standards and related publications. Under this long-term arrangement, IHS will become the exclusive distributor of AIA standards and related publications, and will upgrade and manage the AIA’s “National Aerospace Standards Store” for easier access to these vital documents.

IHS is the leading international provider of content integration and decision support tools, technical standards, codes and product specifications, parts management and logistics solutions. AIA, founded in 1919, and IHS have been partners since 1982 serving manufacturers of commercial, military and business aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, missiles, spacecraft, materiel, and related components and equipment.

"IHS is a valued contributor to the AIA and to the aerospace industry with its specs and standards solutions, and is a leader in addressing key industry initiatives like parts management," said Matthew B. Williams, director, Standardization, Aerospace Industries Association. "The convergence of AIA content with the extensive sales and distribution capabilities of IHS is a powerful combination as we tackle the top issues of importance for our industry and member organizations.”

"IHS is very pleased to continue a longstanding relationship with AIA and its members,” said Eileen Quirk, vice president of Standards Business Development, IHS. “For 45 years, IHS has delivered innovative solutions to address customers’ engineering content, design and information requirements, enabling them to quickly find the right data and technical standards critical to their jobs, at the right time, to improve productivity, time-to-market and quality.”

AIA, like over 450 content partners, entrusts IHS to fulfill its electronic, custom collection and hardcopy distribution. IHS Specs and Standards Service collections include more than one million technical documents.
