• AIA expands Civil Aviation leadership team, George Novak new Assistant Vice President
  AIA announced that it is strengthening its leadership team, naming George Novak as the new Assistant Vice President, Civil Aviation.

  George assumes the position of AIA Assistant Vice President following more than 20 years of regulatory compliance and international aviation law and policy experience for both the FAA and George Washington University.

  Efforts to establish the first carbon dioxide certification standard for aircraft are proving difficult, and the recent failure to agree on a metric for CO2 emissions risks delaying completion of the standard. Any delay will empower environmental groups already putting pressure on governments to regulate aircraft CO2 emissions in the absence of a global standard.
