Civil Aviation Council

The objective of the Civil Aviation Council is to provide guidance and direction, as a single authoritative source, on AIA member companies' views on common non competitive civil aviation matters, both domestic and international. The Council will be concerned with broad policy matters.

 The Council will provide guidance and direction to plans and action designed to identify and promote the broadest, most efficient potential of civil aviation. The Council responsibility shall include:

  • Aviation Safety
  • Airplane and rotorcraft requirements such as noise control, engineering and operations.
  • Airplane and rotorcraft design, manufacture, test, certification/qualification, and use.
  • Propulsion systems design, manufacture, certification/ qualification, and use; including engine emissions control.
  • Civil customer support.
  • National Civil Aviation Policy.
  • Quality, product integrity, and flight safety of airplanes and rotorcraft and their related equipment and systems.
