Dues payments, including a pro rata share of reasonable trade association expenses, are deductible by members as an ordinary and necessary expense. However, contributions or gifts to AIA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. ¹ Most current AIA member companies are represented by CEOs or senior vice presidents. ² "Production of aerospace systems" has been defined to mean the manufacture of manned and unmanned aircraft, missiles, astronautical vehicles (hereafter referred to as "such products")
