Statement by AIA President and CEO Marion Blakey on Confirmation of Ashton Carter

Ashton Carter is an excellent choice to serve as Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, and he will play a critical role in making the acquisition system more efficient. His experience at the Defense Department and his expertise in the technology arena are particularly relevant to bringing meaningful change. We look forward to working with Carter to ensure that realistic cost estimating, stable budgeting and well-defined requirements become cornerstones of defense acquisition.
