Statement by AIA President and CEO Marion Blakey on the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act:

AIA strongly encourages the House to approve the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act and send it to the president for his signature as soon as possible. This bill is critical to our nation to restore confidence in our financial system and curtail the damage to our economy. The aerospace industry, with almost $200 billion in total sales and 660,300 employees, recognizes a healthy and robust financial sector is vital to moving our economy forward.
