Andrews Space Expands Integration Capability by Acquiring Avionics and Guidance, Navigation and Cont
SEATTLE, -- Andrews Space, Inc. announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Automated Controlled Environments, Incorporated (ACEi), a privately-held California corporation that develops fault-tolerant aerospace avionics and advanced control systems. Founded in 1997, ACEi is a leader in advanced aerospace avionics, robotics, and systems engineering and integration. ACEi hardware is currently flying in space on Bigelow's Genesis II spacecraft.
"Avionics, guidance navigation and control technologies, and hardware are critical to providing cost-effective integration services and products," said Jason Andrews, President of Andrews.
"By acquiring ACEi, we continue to make progress toward our corporate goal of being a mid-tier system integrator. ACEi's fault-tolerant launch vehicle and satellite avionics and control systems, complemented by their work on spacecraft components and unmanned vehicles, directly address our current programs and customer base."
Located in Valencia, California, ACEi's facilities and staff will be integrated into Andrews' daily operations. ``Andrews currently has a number of customers in southern California, such as the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Bringing ACEi into the Andrews family is a key step in growing our presence in the southern California area,' said Marian Joh, CEO of Andrews Space.
ACEi customers include aerospace companies such as Lockheed Martin, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Bigelow Aerospace, and Kistler Aerospace Corporation, as well as government customers including NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR), among others. "Andrews looks forward to serving all of the ACEi customers now and in the future," said Joh.
Andrews is headquartered in Seattle, WA, and has offices in four other states including Utah, Texas, Alabama, and California.
