Hi-Tech Aerospace Joins Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association
Grand Rapids, Michigan, May 29, 2008 - The Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association (MAMA) has added Hi-Tech Aerospace, a division of Hi-Tech Mold and Engineering (Rochester, Mich.) to its member network of companies, a consortium of experienced Michigan manufacturers with a mission of drawing aerospace business to the state. Hi-Tech is a full-service supplier of molds and production for the automotive and aerospace plastics industry, offering everything from engineering to CNC machining to prototype and production tool capability.
Known for its expertise in 3D machining of molds for vehicle components such as instrument panels and bumpers systems, Hi-Tech president Robert Schulte says, "Automotive is the core of our business but, given the growth of the aerospace industry, we believe we can help these OEMs meet delivery schedules as well as help ourselves by growing Michigan's economy."
With the addition of Hi-Tech to its member list, MAMA now represents 24 diverse Michigan AS9120, AS9100 and NADCAP certified manufacturers. Capabilities of the combined MAMA companies include CNC machining, heat treating, welding, stamping, hydroforming, plastic injection molding, laser and waterjet cutting, cold, warm and hot forming, NDT inspection, and more. MAMA Vice-President Craig Wolff says he expects membership to ultimately grow to over 50 firms.
The mission of the Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association is to serve and represent the interests of Michigan's aerospace manufacturing firms with a single, unified voice while providing educational programs and industry research to its members.
