Infotech elevates commitment to aerospace and defense industry by increasing involvement in major industry organization
East Hartford, CT, USA, December 22, 2011 – Infotech Enterprises has expanded its involvement with the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) by becoming a Regular Full Member of the prominent organization. AIA represents the nation's leading manufacturers and suppliers of civil, military, and business aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aircraft systems, space systems, aircraft engines, missiles, material and related components, equipment, services and information technology. To qualify, Regular Full Member companies must be manufacturers or service providers to the US aerospace industry. With over 50% of revenues related to this industry, Infotech is tightly integrated in the global aerospace supply chain through relationships with OEMs and Tier-I suppliers including mature program level engagements with three of the top seven A&D OEMs. Infotech also partners with manufacturers to develop comprehensive military solutions designed to meet civil and defense offset obligations and ITAR/EAR compliance.
Infotech plans to expand involvement in several of the AIA Councils and Committees focused on National Security and Export Controls, in addition to continued participation in the AIA Supplier Management Council, a collaborative forum for suppliers to address issues, share best practices and network in order to strengthen the supplier and customer relationship.
"Our expanded involvement in the AIA reflects our continued support for the aerospace and defense industry and more opportunity for collaboration with senior leadership on the emerging issues and challenges they face in the changing global market," said Brian Wyatt, VP of Global Strategy and Marketing at Infotech Enterprises.
More than 300 major aerospace and defense companies and their suppliers are members of the association, representing $200 Billion in aerospace sales and embodying every high-technology manufacturing segment of the U.S. aerospace and defense industry from commercial aviation and avionics, to manned and unmanned defense systems, to space technologies and satellite communications. AIA receives its policy guidance from the direct involvement of CEO-level officers of the country's major aerospace companies. The government frequently seeks advice from AIA on issues, and AIA provides a forum for government and industry representatives to exchange views and resolve problems on non-competitive matters related to the aerospace industry.
