Industry leaders from Europe and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding at the Farnborough Airshow that formalizes their working relationship to develop and maintain an entire suite of Integrated Logistics Support specifications. These specifications are designed to afford users a common, interoperable framework of Support Specifications in the aerospace and defense industries of Europe and the United States. ASD and AIA agree to work in concert to develop and maintain a suite of ILS Specifications to cover all aspects of supportability over the entire life cycle of a product and be up-to-date with the technical development and changes in support philosophy.
The existing standards comprising the suite are as follows:

Other standards are planned for development. AIA’s participation is based on three factors. First, the specifications are harmonized to provide for the life cycle of a product as well as facilitating data re-use. Second, the global nature of future product development calls for an international suite of life cycle sustainment standards. Finally, participation provides an opportunity for AIA’s member companies to contribute to the continued development of these standards to ensure the best fit for U.S. implementations.
Existing specifications are currently available through the ASD-STAN on-Line Store.
