The Board of Governors approved changes to the Supplier Management Council that will enable it to operate more like a council, provide more opportunities for members to get involved, create greater alignment with the larger association and enable it to play a more significant role in strengthening the industrial base and in executing our Federal Budget Education Campaign.
Among the changes, the Supplier Management Council now has a clarified mission; a more inclusive governance structure with an expanded Executive Committee with rotating seats and a new Board of Managers; and a system of working groups and liaisons that allow the SMC to provide input to the larger association on critical issues affecting the supply chain. David Mandell, AIA’s vice president for membership and business development, reported that he would be providing more information to the membership and getting greater involvement from Full members and Associate members in the weeks ahead.
