AIA at Farnborough

The Farnborough International Airshow begins July 19. This year, the show highlights important sectors of the aerospace industry through themed conferences: AeroSpace, Defense, Space, Security and Futures Day. Friday’s Futures Day is aimed at influencing the younger generation to look to careers in aerospace. A key event will be the International Rocket Competition among the national winners from the United States, the United Kingdom and France.

As at previous Farnborough Airshows, AIA is again organizing a variety of events to support member companies and help ensure that they have productive business and networking experiences. AIA staff will also be supporting the Defense Department’s Operations Center, coordinating the display of U.S. aircraft and providing logistics assistance for more than 100 air crew.

The U.S. DOD static aircraft area is one of the most popular sections at the show. This year the list includes the following aircraft in the display area: USAF F-16C Fighting Falcon (Viper), USAF F-15E Strike Eagle, USAF C-130J Hercules, USAF C-17 Globemaster III, USN F/A-18-E/F Super Hornet, USA RQ-7B Shadow Unmanned Aircraft System, USMC UH-1Y Iroquois and the USN MH-60R Seahawk. In addition there will be flying demonstrations by the USAF F-22 Raptor and the USAF B-52 Stratofortress as well as the F-16, the F/A-18 and the C-130J.

AIA's civil and space member companies also will be represented in full force, including a number of Farnborough firsts. Look for the AIA banner at Farnborough, and be sure to check our blog for the latest news from AIA at the show.
