Association Launches Secure Online Database that Facilitates International Trade

AIA has launched an online database that enables the connection of AIA member companies with foreign suppliers who adhere to the requirements of the U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT).

Cargo LoaderThe C-TPAT program is a voluntary initiative whose goal is to strengthen the security of the global supply chain while facilitating the movement of lawful cargo.

Benefits of the C-TPAT program for participants include reduced numbers of inspections and, therefore, less border delay time as well as priority processing of inspections.

International suppliers to AIA member companies benefit from reduced paperwork requirements as they communicate with their U.S. customers. The database also provides a way of marketing this competitive advantage to potential customers in the United States.

AIA members using the database will find it an asset in complying with U.S. Customs and Border Protection security guidelines, leading to a more predictable supply chain.

The database is at www.aia-aerospace.org/industry_information/c_tpat/.
