The 2012 Farnborough Air Show began Monday morning, as AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey spoke at the Opening Ceremony. More than 21 state delegations are represented at Farnborough this year. Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman emceed the event with special guests U.S. Embassador to the UK Louis B. Susman, Air Force Secretary Michael B. Donley and Commerce Undersecretary for International Trade Francisco J. Sanchez.

AIA activities on opening day continued with a Commerce Lunch, featuring Undersecretary Sanchez, who underlined the importance of the aerospace industry's contribution to President Obama's National Export Initiative, which calls for doubling exports by the end of 2014.
