Cyber Security Information Center Subscriber
Cyber security is of vital importance to U.S. economic well-being. In 2008, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff named cyber security one of the nation's four top security issues, as well as a significant area of focus for the new administration's national security team.
AIA is partnering with the Internet Security Alliance (ISA), to provide members with daily alerts and access to information and tools to help identify threats to your company's IT infrastructure. ISA is a nonprofit forum for information sharing and thought leadership on information security issues. This service will provide a built-in early warning system regarding significant and potentially damaging threats to your IT system, one of the most critical operational elements of any company today.
As part of this new benefit, AIA members can utilize a number of valuable information resources on cyber security:
- Daily or periodic e-bulletins on the topics of your choice, covering a wide range of subjects including a Daily Brief with current threats and vulnerabilities to very specific interest areas such as Biometric Identification or Phishing. Set up your user profile
- Access to ISA's member content, including webinars and published best practices such as "Financial Impact of Cyber Risk," "Senior Managers Guide to Cyber Security" and "Small Businesses Guide to Cyber Security."
- Access to the US-CERT (United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team) portal, which includes secure messaging, interactive forums, an electronic library and a number of tools that will allow your IT personnel to collaborate and share security information efficiently.
AIA aims to establish an industry-wide cybersecurity strategy to meet information protection requirements. In 2009, AIA implemented recommendations for an industry-wide cyber security strategy, developed and implemented a Cyber Security Communication Plan, Published a Venn Diagram of cyber security efforts, consolidated and published AIA member security checklists for publication and ocused on SMC & cyber security by collaborating on value and approach, published point paper.
In the near future, AIA aims to complete a market survey of available cyber security standards and recommend cyber security standards for AIA members. AIA will assess the adoption of cyber security standards, and continue to dissemenate the Cyber Security Communication Plan.
