Bringing the Aerospace Standards Community Together
The SSFA began in 2005 following the release of an Aerospace Industry Association's report on the Future of Aerospace Standardization. The report defined requirements to support the future growth of the industry and made recommendations for a standardization infrastructure. The SSFA:
- Serves as primary contact for U.S. aerospace industry standards positions.
- Unites voices of the U.S. aerospace industry regarding standards issues and policies.
- Facilitates public/private partnerships relative to standards and standardization.
- Enhances coordination of U.S. input to global standards development.
- Promotes a global aerospace standards infrastructure.
AIA's Board of Governors charted the SSFA to create and sustain a strong partnership between all stakeholders (industry, government, standards developers, and customers) to enhance the development, delivery, management, and utilization of aerospace standards
