Fourth Quarter 2000
Every aerospace indicator turned up in the fourth quarter. Employment,
despite on average showing no increase between the third and fourth quarters,
has increased each month since September. New orders, at $50 billion, nearly
matched the second quarter’s record. Profits increased 29% on higher sales and
greater exports. However, for the year, only orders have increased.
