Fourth Quarter 1996
Orders, civil exports, sales, and employment surged in the fourth quarter of 1996. for the year, orders grew $24 billion, exports and sales increased more than $6 billion each, employment rose 37,000, and profits jumped 50% to a record $7.3 billion in 1996. AIA predicts further gains in sales and employment for 1997.
