Strategic Summary

For nearly one hundred years, AIA has supported the American aerospace and defense industry’s mission of delivering Strength, Security, and Prosperity. Through AIA, aerospace and defense companies across the supply chain engage with an array of strategic partners and stakeholders to bolster our country’s industrial base. In our second century, AIA will continue to advocate for an industry at the core of the American economy to advance positive policies, promote innovative opportunities, convene forums on critical issues, and recruit the next generation of our 2.4 million employee strong workforce to ensure our nation’s future prosperity and security.

2018 Priorities

> Promote robust, balanced and stable U.S. defense spending.

> Promote a secure, efficient and innovative industrial base that shapes and supports U.S. national security strategy and enhances economic growth.

> Advocate for policies and funding that enable the achievement of NextGen performance objectives and the safe integration of UAS and other new entrants into the NAS.

> Collaborate with the FAA, regulatory authorities and Congress to accelerate and streamline product approval processes.

> Advance government-industry partnership to guide and support execution of security cooperation enterprise reforms.

> Expand the U.S. aerospace and defense industry’s access to the global marketplace.

> Increase civil aerospace investment

> Assure America’s 21st Century space competitiveness

> Advocate for programs, policies, and investments that promote innovation and technology in the U.S. aerospace and industrial community.

> Promote growth of a sustainable, capable, eligible, and diverse workforce to support a healthy U.S. Aerospace and Defense industrial-base.
