The CAESC monitors and responds to national and international regulations, standards, policies, and specifications related to aviation sustainability issues, noise and emissions, supersonic aircraft, sustainable aviation fuels and aircraft designs, and chemicals management. The CAESC strategically oversees and supports industry progress toward sustainable civil aviation including monitoring sustainability metrics and progress toward the national goal of “Net Zero Carbon Emissions” by 2050. The CAESC engages with the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of State, Department of Commerce, Environmental Protection Agency, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and other organizations.
