Dr. Mark Sudol is the Director of Environmental Policy at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). In this role, he uses his expertise in environmental science and engineering and operational flight experience to collaborate with AIA members and advance environmental policies and positions beneficial to the entire industry and the United States.

Mark represents AIA on a number of committees and subcommittees, including the Environmental Committee and the Chemical, Emissions, Noise, and Supersonic Subcommittees.  He is also a member of the Defense Sustainability Working Group (DSWG) and will be spearheading sustainability efforts for civil Aviation at AIA.

Mark joined AIA with over 20 years of experience in environmental policy for the US Army Corps of Engineers, serving as the Chief of the Regulatory Program at Headquarters and as the Director of the Navigation and Decision Support Center at the Institute for Water Resources, a policy think tank for the Corps.  He also brings personal knowledge of aviation as an S-3 Naval Flight Officer for the US Navy, completing nearly 200 carrier landings.

Sudol holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Rochester.  He received an M.A. in Biology and a Doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering from UCLA.
