Monika Nielsen, CMPVice President, Corporate Events

Monika Nielsen is the Vice President of Corporate Events at the Aerospace Industries Association, where she serves on the leadership team and is responsible for the strategy, planning, and management of all meetings and events for the association. Monika is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) with over 20 years of corporate and association event management experience.  She is instrumental in orchestrating seamless and impactful board meetings, conferences and airshows that showcase AIA’s mission and provide invaluable benefits to members and partners within the aerospace and defense community. Monika joined AIA in August 2014, bringing with her a wealth of expertise in event planning and execution.

Before joining AIA, Monika played a pivotal role in managing event logistics and ensuring exceptional customer service at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), where she was involved in all stages of event planning and execution of BIO’s US and International conventions. Based in Washington DC, she led pre-event strategic planning, on-site management, and post-event evaluation, resulting in substantial increases in event revenue and member satisfaction.

Prior to her tenure at BIO, Monika honed her skills in event management and marketing at TopRight, a strategic marketing consulting firm, where she marketed and executed event services for a diverse portfolio of Fortune 500 clients. She also gained valuable experience during her four-year tenure at Fitch, a renowned global bond rating and research company, where she served as a marketing manager in the telecommunications division.

Monika holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Business Management from Loyola University Chicago. In addition to her professional endeavors, she is also on the board of V3Gate Foundation which gives and supports US veterans and first responders.
