Whitney Smith is a director of communications for the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).
Before joining AIA, Whitney moved to Washington, D.C. to join United States Senator Josh Hawley’s communication team when he took office in 2019. She served as his press secretary and was later promoted to deputy communications director. Prior to that, she worked for the Republican National Committee as the Missouri communications director for the 2018 cycle.
Whitney graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and New Media and Political Science. Through college, Whitney worked a variety of jobs in and around the state legislature, and after graduation, she worked in Nashville as the deputy press secretary for the Tennessee Senate Republican Caucus. She then joined Congressman Diane Black’s campaign for governor as her press secretary.
