Arlington, Va. – In case you missed it, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning joined The Hill with Blake Burman on NewsNation to discuss the Pentagon’s budget request, which topped $1 trillion for the first time ever and includes funding for critical minerals, shipbuilding, aircraft, and drone technologies.
During the interview, Fanning praised the request, saying that this budget is designed to shape, support, and strengthen the defense industrial base after years of underinvestment in the bedrock equipment that warfighters need. He highlighted the need to continue outpacing our adversaries as they work to create technologies that threaten the homeland. Finally, he underscored the importance of balancing procurements for both novel technologies like the Golden Dome initiative and legacy technologies as the U.S. learns from and adapts to conflicts around the globe.

After the President’s budget request was released earlier this month, Fanning released a statement where he praised the Pentagon for making a strong investment that will help drive innovation.
