Arlington, Va. – The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) today released the following statement on the recent Executive Order, “Prioritizing the Warfighter in Defense Contracting”:

“America’s defense companies are mobilizing to deliver faster, smarter, and stronger. We employ over 2.2 million Americans and invest billions in cutting-edge R&D to keep our nation secure. President Trump is right—the system must move faster—and we welcome his Administration’s focus on accelerating the acquisition process so our warfighters get what they need without delay.

“The proven way to drive investment across the defense ecosystem is by providing stable demand signals and clear requirements. Multi-year procurement agreements, like the new munitions framework, supported by appropriations, show how strategic planning drives results. These commitments will enable industry and suppliers to invest, expand production, and innovate at scale.

“Attracting private investment to drive innovation and the production of the world’s best technologies has always been the key differentiator for the U.S. defense industry. Federal policies should encourage continued private investment in defense manufacturing. When investment flows, companies can build capacity, modernize plants, and accelerate delivery—all of which directly benefit the warfighter and support America’s leadership in defense technology.

“We share this Administration’s deep commitment to U.S. national security and our troops, and we will continue working with them to advance policies that reward performance, strengthen the defense industrial base, and keep America ahead of fast-moving threats.” – Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO
