Group Chief Executive Officer, ACUTRONIC Group, Inc.

Florian Aigrain has served as Acutronic Group’s CEO since 2015. He is responsible for setting Group strategy; identifying growth opportunities; and managing the Executive Committee. Acutronic’s Simulation & Test Division is the global market leader in high-performance motion simulation and test equipment, including rate tables, Hardware-In-The-Loop simulators, Geotechnical centrifuges, and vibration test systems. The Division also develops and refurbishes stabilized or gimbaled-platforms utilized in applications such as tracking mounts, gun turrets, and directed-energy systems. Acutronic’s Aerospace Components Division produces specialty components for use on unmanned vehicles, land defense applications, and missile systems. These products include a range of electric power systems, servo-actuators, micro turbines, and hybrid-electric-propulsion-systems. The Acutronic Group is privately owned and operates locations in Austin, Texas; Baltimore, Maryland; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Switzerland; Germany; France; and India.

Prior to Acutronic, Florian served in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division, where he was responsible for structuring and underwriting debt instruments. He advised corporations on acquisition financings, spin/split scenarios, and distressed situations, before moving to the firm’s Securities Division, where he executed fixed income transactions for large asset managers. Florian later founded a specialist investment firm focused on venture capital opportunities.

Florian has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industries Association and is an alumni of the American Swiss Foundation’s Young Leaders Conference. He is an inaugural member of the University of Virginia’s Global Affairs Corps of Ambassadors. He represents Acutronic at Opportunity Austin, the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce. He serves alongside his wife on a regional board of the Room to Read organization.

Florian graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics and Foreign Affairs. He is married and has three children.
