Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today made the following statement after the fiscal year 2026 Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration budget was released.
“The Aerospace Industries Association and our members that develop, manufacture, and maintain the safety of commercial air and spacecraft welcome the investments included in the President’s budget request for the Federal Aviation Administration,” Fanning said. “Safety is a priority that industry shares with the administration, and this budget will sustain and support the workforce, technology, systems, and infrastructure that make the American airspace system the global gold standard.
“In addition, combined with the investment in the reconciliation bill, this request is a welcome first step to fundamentally remake the air traffic control system and usher in the next generation of safer, more efficient flight — but more upfront funding is essential to meet the administration’s goals. AIA stands ready to help chart a course forward, and we look forward to working with Congress to helping get this budget enacted on time and ensuring the FAA has the resources it needs to protect American leadership in aerospace.”
