Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today applauded House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) for their productive markup of the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act.

“Building the capacity of the defense industrial base is essential to our national security, and H.R. 3838, the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, will help enable that growth,” said Fanning. “We appreciate the leadership of Chairman Rogers and Ranking Member Smith, as well as the overwhelming bipartisan support of committee members, in assembling this bill.

“Proposals to streamline bureaucratic acquisition processes and adjust select procurement thresholds included in the bill will lower barriers to entry, strengthen the defense industrial base, and enhance America’s defense posture. These are enduring priorities for our members, and we are encouraged to see the committee take an “all-of-the above” approach to our national defense, one that empowers the entire defense industrial base to deliver capabilities to our warfighters in an accelerated and streamlined way.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Congress to support bold and transformative legislation that invests in our strategic national defense.”
