The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) recently submitted feedback to the Office of Management and Budget and Department of War regarding the commercial tranche (tranche 8) of revisions released under the Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Overhaul effort — FAR Part 4 (Administrative and Information Matters), Part 8 (Required Sources of Supplies and Services), Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services), and Part 40 (Information Security and Supply Chain Security). The comments underscore the need to further streamline commercial procurement procedures and better integrate commercial acquisition principles within the federal workforce to more effectively adopt commercial buying practices. AIA and our members support the ongoing effort to modernize and streamline the federal procurement system and look forward to continued engagement on this initiative.
