Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today applauded House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) for their introduction of the SPEED Act, a bill that would transform the acquisition process for the Department of Defense.

“Today’s introduction of the SPEED Act again shows industry that Congress is serious about making transformational and once-in-a-generation changes to the way we conduct business. Streamlining the acquisition process and removing onerous hurdles to get technology to the warfighter more rapidly will enhance the national security of the United States and bolster the defense industrial base,” Fanning said. “The Aerospace Industries Association thanks Chairman Rogers and Ranking Member Smith for the collaboration and bipartisan support of the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. We look forward to working closely with them to advance this critical legislation.”
