Arlington, Va. – Eric Fanning, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), today released the following statement on congressional efforts to fund the federal government for the 2024 fiscal year:
“On behalf of aerospace and defense companies across the United States, which collectively employ over 2.2 million Americans, we call on Congress to act now to fund the federal government. Both the House and the Senate must make meaningful progress on appropriations legislation, especially for the Department of Defense, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration and NASA. These national security, innovation, and aviation safety programs are essential to protecting the future of our country and our industry.
“We thank the appropriators for their hard work so far, and look forward to a realistic, commonsense path forward to prevent a shutdown.”
