Collaboration underway with transition team

Arlington, Va. — Today, the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) virtually convened its 2020 Fall Board of Governors meeting, which brought together hundreds of leaders from aerospace and defense to chart industry’s recovery and resilience from the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. A key pillar of this recovery is a strong partnership with government, which AIA President and CEO Eric Fanning reaffirmed in the following statement offering congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris:

“The aerospace and defense industry congratulates President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their election. Few times in our history has the country faced such serious and sustained risks to our economic and national security, and we stand ready to work with the new Administration as they begin their service.

“The history of aerospace and defense—from helping our country through two world wars to putting the first person on the moon—is defined by a strong partnership between industry and government. We look forward to continuing this collaboration with the Biden Administration to ensure our country’s safety, security, and success.”
