Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today commented on the Department of Defense’s (DOD) recently released National Defense Industrial Strategy (NDIS) interim implementation plan:
“The Aerospace Industries Association is encouraged by the Department of Defense’s continued focus on bolstering the health and resilience of the defense industrial base. We’re pleased to see that this interim implementation plan emphasizes key priorities for which we’ve long been advocating: timely appropriations, multi-year procurement, and rapid execution of contracting – all contributing to the demand signal industry needs to make more timely investments with greater certainty,” Fanning said. “We hope to learn more about implementation of the National Defense Industrial Strategy as the military departments put elements of the plan into action, and we will continue to coordinate closely with the Pentagon throughout this process.”
In January, AIA released a statement following the release of the strategy and called for industry engagement during the implementation of the NDIS.
