Arlington, Va. (Dec. 11, 2023) – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today released a statement after the Biden Administration announced the first federal grant awarded under the CHIPS and Science Act:
“A strong defense industrial base is essential for national security, and semiconductors are integral to modern military systems, communication networks, and advanced technologies. The CHIPS and Science Act aligns with our commitment to supporting investments that enhance the United States’ technological capabilities and safeguard our national defense.
“Fostering innovation and domestic manufacturing in this critical sector will not only strengthen our national security but also stimulate economic growth and job creation. AIA looks forward to the next phase of the law’s implementation.”
