Arlington, Va. — Today, President Joe Biden rescinded Executive Order 13950, which restricted the ability of the federal government and its contractors to provide certain diversity and inclusion trainings to employees. Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning issued the following statement:
“President Biden’s decision to rescind this executive order—as part of a whole-of-government initiative to advance racial equity—affirms the importance of diversity and inclusion to our nation and its workforce. Cultivating a workplace culture where employees from diverse communities are valued and respected drives innovation, while helping maintain the aerospace and defense industry’s competitive edge. We look forward to working the President and government leaders to strengthen diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives throughout the federal government, including through effective anti-bias training.”
