Arlington, Va – The Aerospace Industries Association today released a statement after President Trump announced a deal with the European Union (EU) to remove tariffs on commercial aircraft and aircraft parts and components, as well as the EU’s announcement to make investments into the American defense industrial base.
The following statement is attributable to an AIA spokesperson:
“The U.S. aerospace and defense industry is a critical manufacturing and exporting sector for the United States, and the US-EU trade deal will help strengthen this key sector.
“Today’s trade announcement includes several nations that are our top trading partners, reaffirming President Trump’s commitment to building a safer, more secure, and prosperous America. Particularly, lowering barriers to trade in aircraft and aircraft parts and components will build on our four decades of exponential growth enabled by a favorable trade environment. Substantial investment by the EU into our defense industrial base is also an important win, allowing us to equip our allies and partners with the American-made products that are second to none.”
