Senior Vice President, Policy
Remy Nathan is the Senior Vice President for Policy for the Aerospace Industries Association, leading the International Affairs division while also working with AIA leadership and across divisions to help AIA develop, integrate, and execute cross-division and enterprise-level activities and initiatives.
Nathan is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and recommending industry actions on trade-related issues as they affect international commercial and military aerospace markets. These include export controls, export financing, and current and potential trade barriers in key markets. In his time at AIA, he has organized and executed a number of successful advocacy campaigns that have led to substantial improvements to the U.S. export control system, launched an ongoing global industry ethics initiative (the International Forum on Business Ethical Conduct – IFBEC), and preserved a level playing field and market access for industry imports and exports.
Prior to joining AIA in 2003, Nathan was responsible for supporting U.S. companies active in Malaysia, as well as the Defense Working Group of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
Nathan has a bachelor’s degree in government and foreign affairs and China studies from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in international economics and Southeast Asian studies from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
