Simone R. Pérez is an aviation policy expert with over a decade of experience. She has worked in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. Beginning in July of 2022, Mrs. Pérez will begin her role as Senior Director, Civil Aviation for the Aerospace Industries Association.
As a Professional Staff Member on the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Mrs. Pérez was responsible for managing a diverse aviation portfolio. She has worked on legislation advancing the safety of the national airspace system, ensuring funding for airport infrastructure, and enhancing regulatory oversight enacted as part of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018.
Prior to joining the U.S. Senate, Mrs. Pérez served as a Professional Staffer for the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure in the U.S. House of Representatives. In this role, Mrs. Pérez worked on aviation policy matters related to aviation safety, general aviation, and air traffic control.
Mrs. Pérez has a B.A. in Government from Skidmore College and a M.A. in International Trade and Public Policy from George Mason University.
