The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) recently submitted feedback to the Office of Management and Budget regarding the second tranche of revisions released under the Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Overhaul effort — Part 11 (Describing Agency Needs), Part 18 (Emergency Acquisitions), Part 39 (Acquisition of IT & Communication Technology), and Part 43 (Contract Modifications). The comments emphasized the importance of clear and prioritized agency requirements; proper privacy safeguards, especially as it relates to IT acquisition; and clear rules regarding contract modifications. AIA supports the ongoing effort to streamline and modernize the federal procurement system.
