The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) recently submitted feedback to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Department of War (DOW) regarding the revisions made to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 13, 15, 16, 19, 22, 23, 32, 42, and 53 under the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul effort. The comments emphasized the need to ensure fairness, consistency, and transparency when contracting by negotiation. In particular, the comments addressed how the government maintains impartiality when establishing the competitive range, in source selection, and in how negotiations are conducted. The comments also called for clarity regarding the certification process for small businesses. AIA and our members support the ongoing effort to modernize and streamline the federal procurement system and look forward to continued engagement on this initiative.
