Standards Engineer, National Aerospace Standards (NAS) Program
Chloe Wolchko is AIA’s Standards Engineer. In this role, she works with AIA’s National Aerospace Standards Committee to support the development and maintenance of NAS part standards and specifications. NAS parts are used globally in both military and commercial aircraft.
Prior to joining AIA, Chloe interned at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) where she worked with the Fire Protection Engineering team. At NAVFAC, Chloe assisted with editing building drawings and learned how to navigate the National Fire Protection Association Handbooks. Chloe also interned at NASA Langley Research Center with the Aeronautics Systems Analysis branch. While at NASA, she researched ways to use large scale UAVs to track harmful algae blooms in the Chesapeake Bay using hyperspectral imagers. As part of her undergraduate studies, Chloe was involved in a senior design project where she and her team researched, designed, and tested a morphing glider drone designed to deliver medical supplies.
Chloe earned her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace from Old Dominion University.
