Kayla Renner is the Manager of Legislative Affairs at the Aerospace Industries Association. In this role, she partners with the leadership team and AIA members to develop and execute AIA’s legislative strategy and advocate those positions before Congress. Additionally, she assists in preparing AIA positions and strategic advocacy on legislation, primarily related to civil, commercial, and national security space.  

Prior to joining AIA, Kayla served as a government intern for the Department of Commerce and a marketing intern for the French industrial supplier Aëxor, where she gained strategic international trade and foreign procurement experience. Additionally, she served as a legislative fellow for the consulting firm Monument Advocacy and a public policy intern for New York Assemblyman Brian Barnwell. In these positions, she drafted policy and conducted congressional advocacy, gaining extensive knowledge on the federal legislative process. Most recently, she worked in government affairs for the private rocket launch company Virgin Orbit, where she assisted in civil and defence appropriations, as well as represented the company’s space initiatives before Congress.

Kayla graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Political Science, and a B.A. in French. She received an M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, focusing on U.S. foreign policy and international security.
