Lorenzo E. WilliamsSenior Director, Acquisition Policy

Lorenzo E. Williams recently retired as a Captain from active service in the U.S. Navy. He began his career in aviation operations support aboard the USS Eisenhower (CVN 69), followed by postings with the Naval Supply and Naval Sea Systems enterprises, the Defense Logistics Agency, and Multi-National Force-Iraq. His senior acquisition experience includes serving as Operations Officer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Procurement, and as Commanding Officer, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Baltimore, where he was responsible for the full spectrum of strategic and daily activities of a multi- state, multi-functional workforce of more than 300 employees and partners, and for the administration of $63 billion in defense contracts.

A native of North Augusta, South Carolina, Lorenzo graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and earned a Master of Arts in Human Resources Development from Webster University. He completed additional professional military education at the Naval War College, and leadership and Executive Development programs at Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania respectively. He was a qualified Naval Aviation Supply Corps Officer, a Surface Warfare Supply Corps officer, a member of the Defense Acquisition Professional Community, and a subspecialist in both Contracting and Life Cycle Logistics. His personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Commendation Medal, six Navy Commendation Medals, the Navy Achievement Medal, as well as the Armed Forces Expeditionary and Iraqi Campaign Medals.

As Senior Director for Acquisition Policy, Lorenzo will assist with the activities of our Acquisition Policy Council (APC), and oversee the work of the Contract Management (CMC), Cost Principles (CPC), Aerospace and Defense Controllers (ADC), and Cash Flow (CFC) Committees.
