On March 28, 2023, Eric Fanning, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), sent a letter to U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, thanking her for her leadership in introducing the bipartisan Securing America’s Titanium Manufacturing Act, a critical legislation aim to strengthen our national security by supporting America’s titanium supply chain. Currently, the U.S. titanium industry imports 100% of its titanium sponge, a crucial material used in military fighter aircraft, submarines, satellites, and other defense technologies. The U.S. aerospace and defense industry supports Congress’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of America’s titanium industry.
